The benefits of developing and fortifying physical function
Exercise is not purely the domain of the young. Older adults exercise, too, and need it just as much. Our residents have a diverse range of abilities, but we gladly tailor our physical activities to suit each individual’s needs and comfort levels.
- High-mobility cardio and strength training keep the body strong and the mind engaged.
- Low-mobility physical activity improves mobility and alleviates mental and physical stress.
- Exercise builds confidence and independence, while exercise groups encourage socialisation.

How we tailor your exercise program for you
Our exercise programs aim to help you improve your cardiovascular strength, muscle strength, flexibility and balance. Depending on your age or comorbidities, you may be uncomfortable with, or even unable to perform, certain exercises. That’s why we offer both active and passive exercise programs for our aged care residents.
Active exercises (like jogging or weight training) stress major muscle groups and your cardiovascular system. Passive exercises (like seated or rehabilitation exercises) work individual muscles or small groupings, and are much less strenuous. Either way, a moderate amount of physical activity offers many health benefits, and we’ll work with you to find your comfort level.
